Reflection (Mount Rainier)

I’m not fully sure how to put this all together but I would like to share my condolences.  Tucker Taffe, also known in Alta Utah as “Tucker de la Wasatch,” passed away on a recent trip we had on Mount Rainier.  I didn’t know Tucker for long, but I met him through good company and I truly appreciate those I choose to surround myself with.  Indeed, we walk a thin line not always realizing the severity of our actions; and we should.  One thing I would like to say is how proud I am of my friends for handling everything so well.  Let’s stick to our passions, doing our best to live for the day and for our future.

Thank you Mount Rainier National Parks service, Alpine Ascent International and everybody else who assisted. My condolences to Tucker’s family and friends.

“Most climbers aren’t in fact deranged, they’re just infected with a particularly virulent strain of the Human Condition.”
Jon Krakauer (Eiger Dreams: Ventures Among Men and Mountains)

A good friend of mine reminded me that we cannot simply “conquer” mountains, but rather we share time with them. On the Mountain’s terms…  Stay safe.
